Personal SpecsPlace of Birth – Young, NSW, Australia
Resides – Darwin, NT, Australia Nicknames – Predds, Predders Age - 27 Height - 168cm Weight - 52kg Biggest achievements to date – Grant has two which he can't separate. 1) Finishing Ironman Malaysia 2010. "I had two flat tires (fixed one), wanted to give up every couple of kilometers, and legs hurting even before I got to the run. I walked more of the marathon than ran." However, he still finished. 2) Cycling around Australia raising money for the Bathurst Base Hospital in memory of his Granddad. Check out the story told by his father by the link above. A little more about me: I am a charity enthusiast who enjoys raising money and awareness for causes that make a difference in the community. I have completed many charity events in Australia including swim-a-thons, walk-a-thons, a 16hr non-stop run, biggest of which is a cycle around Australia of 16,000km. I am also in the planning stages of another major cycling event through the heart of Australia. However, at the foremost, I am currently planning to raise money for the Cancer Warriors Foundation in The Philippines. I have been competing in triathlons and running races in The Philippines since 2009 and have seen many of the conditions these children grow up in as well as some of the medical institutions. Cancer has touched my heart in many of ways through my family, as well as close friends and colleagues. The Philippines itself also touches my heart, with the pride and perseverance the Filipino community has to push through the suffering and devastation of natural disasters, poverty and many more uncontrollable effects. Though I do not live in The Philippines, it is for this reason I am choosing this endeavour. |
