Here in Darwin

After going around Australia I found myself struggling to get on my feet again. With not having a job and no studying, I found it really hard to get into a rhythm which was able to help me out financially and physically.
About three months later my brother gave me the opportunity to move to Darwin. He had helped me find a job and housed me graciously until I could support myself.
I started working as a waiter in one of the hotels but then somehow started to do everything from reception to housekeeping and even night porter. At some stages I worked over 90 hrs a week, making it very difficult to train.
With the unpredictability and working life of hospitality, I found that I could not accomplish the goals I had set, therefore decided to change to a less strenuous job which allows me to partake in a little more training.
In 2008 I completed my first Half Ironman in Canberra, now under the guidance of level 2 triathlon coach Daryl Stanley.
2009 was a great year for my training and I had a year of very successful racing as well. I broadened my spectrum a little and completed three more half Ironman events and also competed in the Australian Challenge series.
I completed my first race in the Open category in December 2009 in Canberra. It was a great opportunity for me to learn and gauge from the professional athletes where I am and guide me to the right path. The experience was worth it and gave me that directional support I was looking for.
I competed in my first Ironman in February 2010. Again a great experience and lots to learn.
Please view my travel stories and other pages to see what I’m up to.
I always look forward to new experiences and hope everyone can join in the fun of doing triathlons.
For now,
Keep-It-Together.
