2013 Race Reports
Ironman Cairns
I guess I could say I'm glad that's over, though I am looking forward to the next one. Maybe not next Ironman, but next race for sure. But before we get into that ill talk about this little race.
First up the build into this race was very poor, started off with the lack of enthusiasm and then I had extended hours at work which led to complete body exhaustion. So I had four weeks of no training. Just the standard everyday life problems us age groupers deal with. 5150 Subic Bay PhilippinesWow, what a wonderful race. The events that Princess and the Sunrise Events team put on are second to none. Every race has its problems but it’s the hospitality and friendliness of the staff that cater for your every need which sets them above the rest.
Coming into this race two weeks after IM Cairns and not much training, I was a little worried the body wouldn't hold up, and for that matter the mind as well. Ironman 70.3 Cebu PhilippinesWell I'm back here again in the wonderful Philippine Mactan Island in Cebu. The trip started off a little rocky with quite a large delay to our airport pickup, but thank you to Gary and the team at BE Resorts Mactan for going out of your way to make our stay perfect after that.
Check in, set the bike up and have a bit of lunch before I head on over to race registration to be greeted by the wonderful Princess again. I’ll say it now instead of at the end, thank you for once again putting on such a wonderful event, you are so amazing. I know you spend endless hours working on making the best races possible and you're prepared for any challenge, that's what makes me come back. Read More Here |
